South Brunswick police handled 25 cases of motor vehicle accidents and motorists’ requests for assistance since snowfall began, police said in an alert issued around 1 p.m. Thursday.

Police are asking drivers to limit travel Thursday afternoon, and they warned that a hard freeze was expected Thursday night and early Friday because temperatures were expected to drop into the teens.

Thursday’s South Brunswick Zoning Board, Shade Tree Commission, and Transportation Advisory Committee meeting are canceled because of the weather.
