Around 12:30 p.m. May 29, a Jeffrey Circle resident called police and reported that there were two suspicious men in the neighborhood.
A patrol sergeant arrived within minutes and saw a man sitting in the passenger side of a green van that was parked on the street.

As the sergeant got out of his car, he saw a second man -- later identified as Napolitano -- emerge from the side of a home down the street. The sergeant ordered Napolitano to stop, but he ran away, hopped into the driver’s seat of the van and drove off, onto Georges Road.
The sergeant notified police dispatch, then went to the home to see if anyone else was there. He determined the man had been trying to break into the home - he found a screwdriver, gloves, and pry marks.
As officers continued to check the neighborhood, they discovered a second home where the window had been pried open.
In both cases the men left empty-handed because they were interrupted by the police response.
Within minutes, police found the green van abandoned two blocks away on Benjamin Court, but after an extensive search by police and K9 unit, the men could not be found.
But, detectives determined Napolitano was the suspect who ran from the home.
Police got a search warrant for the van and they found evidence linking Napolitano to additional burglaries.
A warrant for Napolitano, charging him with two counts of burglary, as well as one count each of possession of burglary tools and eluding has been issued for his arrest. Bail has been set at $120,000.
Police say Napolitano is a known drug user and often scraps metal at local salvage yards.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Dennis Yuhasz at (732) 329-4646.
