It's Happening at The Baird: May 10 is opening night for 'The Full Monty,' the liberating musical that strips bare the souls and clothing of a group of down-on-their luck steelworkers.

Six unemployed steelworkers try to make some quick cash by taking off their clothes in The Full Monty being performed at The Baird Theatre in South Orange.

Nicholas Clarey directs this popular musical for interACT Theatre Productions. Performances are May 10-May 12 and May 17-May 19 (7:30 p.m. Friday/Saturday nights; 2 p.m. Saturday/Sunday matinees).

Stripped of their pride and livelihoods, the men’s unlikely new job strengthens their self-esteem and friendship in this musical version of the Academy Award-nominated 1997 film.

The cast features: Erik Gaden, Jim Coe, Walter Zimmerman, Ken Pettis, Daniel Jaffe, Noah Brendemuehl, Tasha Williams-Arroyo, Madison Houck, Elena Stremlin, Meg Gilbert, Sam Mullaney, Mike Cox, Regine Riviere, Heidi Hart, Maribeth Theroux, Sally Jayne, Ken Magos, Steven Gordon, Whitney Pillsbury, and Stephen Sigmund.

Holland J. Jancaitis is the show’s music director.

Tickets are $18 for adults; $15 for students (with ID) and seniors.
