Bringing flowers, activists from throughout Essex County will gather at Flood's Hill in South Orange this Friday to commemorate the 6 month anniversary of the tragedy at Newtown. In addition to the commemoration, people will be coming to send a message to New Jersey's interim Senator Jeffrey Chiesa that he should support any Gun Violence Prevention Bills that come before him for votes.

The commemoration will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday June 14th at Flood's Hill located at Ridgewood Road and Mead Street in South Orange. It is being presented  by the Essex/Morris County Chapter of Organizing for Action (OFA) and the  Township of South Orange Viilage. South Orange Village President Alex Torpey is  expected to attend along with other elected and community leaders.

"We are bringing flowers to remember the lives that were lost six months ago at
Sandy Hook, but also want to send a message to our new Senator to honor their
memories and the wishes of New Jerseyans by actively supporting bills to prevent
further gun violence and make our country safer," said Larry Hirsch, Co-Chapter
Leader of Essex/Morris County OFA "We welcome our neighbors to join us to send
