FLASH: Harlem Gospel Choir Raised Our Spirits at SOPAC Saturday Night

Harlem Gospel Choir lifted our spirits last Saturday night at SOPAC.

In front of appx. 350 people, the Harlem Gospel Choir sang beautiful harmonies and soaring melodies at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) last Saturday night 3/9.

Known for its gospel-style, visceral performances, the Choir has been applauded by critics and fans alike – even the Pope! " It's more than a show, it's a feeling! " - Pope John Paul II

The Harlem Gospel Choir has traveled the world for 26 years sharing its joy of faith while fundraising for children's charities. Founded in 1986 by Allen Bailey, the Choir presents the finest singers and musicians from black churches in Harlem and the New York City area. The theme of every performance is "bringing people and nations together, and give something back". The Choir has performed alongside superstars including Andre Rieu, Diana Ross, Bono, The Chieftains, Simple Minds, Live, Sinead O'Connor, Kim Wilde, Lyle Lovett, Josh Groban, Lisa Marie Presley and the Gorillaz. The Harlem Gospel Choir has also had solo performances for Royalty, President Obama, Nelson Mandela, Popes, Elton John, the Michael Jackson memorial and now SOPAC.
