Everyone has a different goal when they are traveling whether it is adventure, sightseeing, relaxing, or absorbing local culture.  One of my favorite parts of travelling is the food!  The things to look for when eating in Chile, at your favorite Chilean restaurant, or shopping at your local Eden Marketplace are the olive oils, salts, rice dishes, and seafood.  Recently I picked up a bottle of Nova Oliva olive oil and some ChilePacific smoked sea salt with merken (a traditional native condiment made with hot chili peppers) added a few extra herbs, and made a quick spicy dipping sauce for a crusty boule.  Add some cheese and olives and you have the best lazy dinner ever!

 What makes Chile an excellent destination for people of all ages and backgrounds it that it has a diverse array of options for tourists.  Due to the geographical orientation of the country the climate ranges from hot and humid to cold and ideal for skiing.  Chile is home to over 100 national parks, nature reserves, and monuments.  If you are looking for a relaxing beach with an old world vibe try out La Serena.  It is beautiful during the Chilean summer which runs from December through February.  If you win the contest its perfect timing for a Christmas getaway or a sweetheart retreat for Valentine’s Day!

 Not really the beach type? My recommendation would be to check out the Zona Austral which is home to Patagonia.  This Chilean destination is perfect for the adventure traveler as there are many islands, fjords, glaciers, and temperate rainforests to explore.  Either way, you are guaranteed to find something to suit your personal travel style!
