Join us on Saturday April 12th at Bunny's Restaurant for the second annual In The Line Of Duty fundraising event. Last year was a huge success and we're hoping this year will be bigger and better. We already have a bunch of great items and services and more will be coming in. The event raises money for the Police Unity Tour.
Many services and/or items have been donated for this event, make a chance bidding on something you like. The money raised will go to the Unity Tour, which is a registered non-profit organization. (Tax ID 22-3530541)
For those who don't know, the Police Unity Tour it is a charity bike ride, done by police officers, for the purpose of bringing awareness to the dangers we face every day as well as to raise money for the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC. On May 5th, we will leave East Hanover NJ on a four day ride to Washington DC, covering over 300 miles. It started out in 1997, right here in NJ, with only 18 officers. Now, we will roll into DC with over 1500 riders. To date we have raised over 14 Million Dollars. The donations have paid for a complete restoration of the memorial walls, on which almost 20,000 names are engraved, all officers who've died in the line of duty. We have also been instrumental in the building of the National Law Enforcement Museum and of course, providing assistance to families of fallen officers.
