Knitting and Needlework at the Library
SOPL offers programs in knitting and sewing for adults and children
Experienced knitters and newcomers are welcome at the library. South Orange Public Library hosts a regular knitting group led by professional knitter and volunteer Nan Samons. Monday's gathering included knitters at work on sweaters and hats, as well as those casting on first the first time. The group will meet again on Monday, Mar. 15. from noon until 1:00 p.m.
"Bring friends, bring projects," says Samons. In addition to yarn and needles, knitters may also want to bring lunch, as dessert and coffee will be served.
Needlework for the younger set is featured at the end of this month. "It's Sew Easy with Crafty Katie," on Friday, Jan. 29, from 3:45 until 5:00 p.m. is for kids in grades three through eight. Participants should bring an old t-shirt that they will use to make an iPod "snuggie."
