Man Stole 93 Blank Money Orders In South Orange: Police

The man reached over the counter of a South Orange post office and took 93 blank money orders, police said.

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — South Orange police and U.S. Postal Service inspectors have launched an investigation after a man allegedly reached over the counter of a local post office and stole 93 blank money orders, authorities said.

According to the South Orange Police Department, around 2:30 p.m. on June 20, a man entered the South Orange post office and purchased a money order. He then reached over the counter and stole 93 blank money orders and ran out of the building, making his escape in a white Dodge Charger that was parked on Comstock Place, and which drove north on Vose Avenue towards Orange township.

Police described the suspect as a “very thin” black male about 20-years-old and 6 feet 2 inches, wearing a blue “do-rag,” white shirt, gray shorts and white, Nike Air sneakers with the word “AIR” spelled out in blue letters vertically on the sides.
