Seton Hall Student Has Tough Choice: Job Offer, Oxford, Fulbright Award

It's a tough but oh-so-awesome choice that Seton Hall graduate Dominique Fortes faces. What would you pick?

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — It’s not the typical decision that most college graduates will have to weigh. But Seton Hall alum Dominique Fortes isn’t your typical college student.

Fortes, an accounting major and Asian studies minor, is attempting to choose a future based on three great opportunities: takinga job offer from Ernst & Young, attending the University of Oxford, or accepting a Fulbright Scholar award.

It’s not an easy choice for the Parsippany resident.

“I never imagined I would have all these opportunities,” Fortes said in a recent university news release. “I’m feeling blessed.”

A big part of Fortes’ success – and desirability as a student and employee – came from her unflagging desire to “pack as many valuable experiences” into her time at school, Seton Hall administrators said.

  • Five internships (“I practically lived at the Career Center,” Fortes says)
  • Wrote and served as executive editor for Seton Hall’s business publication, “The Stillman Exchange”
  • Spent a summer studying in Beijing
  • Member of Seton Hall’s Ethics Bowl team
