It might have been the most legendary long-lost composition in modern
jazz. “Universe,” an orchestral work, written by sax legend Wayne Shorter during his tenure with Miles Davis. Thanks
to a “gift” from its writer after it was discovered buried in a Library
of Congress collection, “Universe” now is in the hands of another
trumpet player with big vision --Wallace Roney.

On July 4th, Wallace Roney brings his orchestra to OSPAC to perform "Universe"
“Weall love Wayne; he’s one of the greats, and he’s like my best friend,”
Roney said. “He contacted me, said he had this music and said, ‘No one
else can do this but you.’ ”
