What To Expect When You Go For Your COVID Vaccine Shot 12 Steps

Very sad to enter the good old Sears as an empty building and now it's an Essex County COVID vaccination site, Hey I got my first Moderna Covid Vaccine shot and now two days later I am still good to go.

1. Essex County residents should go to https://essexcovid.org/

2. Take the survey.

Note: Nothing too personal

• Standard stuff like name , email and bday etc... and Phone.

Note: The site is focused on qualifying you and giving you a date so highly recommend you enter a cell phone number and get a faster response once you are done.

3. They send a text to your cell phone number

Note: Don't be surprised but people are saying say nothing happened!

• Well if you still using a landline in this day and age you are correct.
• But if using a mobile phone number they send a text to your cell phone number .
• Text acknowledges that they have your info and you signed up.

4. I received a second text, a dayish later , confirming I am in and that I will get an email.

*Note: And of course getting an appointment can be a challenge but if there is no date available, check back daily as new dates become available as vaccine becomes available. They are after all vaccinating the entire country.

5. A day later I received an email with date and time and location.

*Note: Expect a possible date change

• I was given one date by the survey, the date of my appointment was 3 days later.

6. Show up and get dropped off and just walk in.

Note: No one is allowed inside the building other than those taking the shot.

7. Supply your information

• You supply the code you received in your text / email above so bring your phone and / or the number.
  

8. As Momma use to say Take your Shot

Yes it was painless

9. Go to observation area and wait for 15 minutes.

• Remember the time they place on the sticker is the end of the 15 minute wait time,
• Definitely take a picture of your little white card in case you lose it.

10. While waiting Log on to V-Safe After Vaccination Health Checker Site:

• They will give you a form with VSafe Info so they can follow up with you.
• You aim your smartphone camera at the QR ode
• Instructions for Android or iPhone included.
• Fill out a few fields confirming you took the COVID Shot.
• They have volunteers to help you.

11. Once 15 Minutes is over you are done and good to go.

Note:

• They are very fast and efficient.
• I went at 11 AM and moved right thru by 11:29 I was done.
• Social Distancing was enforced throughout entire process.
• Check your card for your second appointment.

12. Watch your phone for follow up VSafe text.

• At Home etc...Watch your cell phone for few days as they check on you ask a few questions to make sure all is well.
