From&nbsp;July 7th through July 11th, the&nbsp;Our Lady of the Lake Annual Church Carnival&nbsp;in Sparta, NJ will be returning for its biggest and most entertaining event yet! This beloved Sussex County/Northern NJ tradition brings together thousands of residents and offers incredible on-site live shot opportunities.
<ul><li>More Rides Than Ever:&nbsp;We are debuting 15 major rides this year (our largest lineup ever), ranging from toddler-friendly attractions to high-thrill rides for teens, alongside 10 classic boardwalk-style game booths.</li><li>A "Faith &amp; Freedom" Semiquincentennial Celebration (Thursday, July 9):&nbsp;We are celebrating America's 250th Anniversary with a patriotic themed night featuring a live Uncle Sam handing out gifts to local children.</li><li>Community with a Global Impact:&nbsp;Last year, the carnival raised nearly more charitable&nbsp;funds than ever, and we are aiming for even more traffic and proceeds this year. A massive chunk of this year's proceeds—anchored by our famous "White Elephant" giant yard sale—goes directly to support our sister parish in Haiti, combining local summer fun with a powerful global mission.</li><li>Summer Carnival Classics:&nbsp;We will have live music (a live DJ throughout the week and a brand-new live band on Friday night), a delicious bake sale, and classic Jersey carnival food from the grill, including our famous local NJ pizza.</li><li>Logistics:&nbsp;Free parking and easy access for news vans. Sparta is less than 40 miles from Central Park and under a 60-minute drive during non-commuting hours.</li></ul>

SPARTA, NJ — Get ready to travel back to the fabulous 1950s as Rising Stars Youth Theatre Company presents the beloved Broadway hit Bye Bye Birdie for two exciting performances at Pehrson Hall next to the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta.
Packed with unforgettable songs, energetic dancing, laugh-out-loud comedy, and a talented cast of young performers from across New Jersey, Bye Bye Birdie promises an entertaining experience for audiences of all ages.
Inspired by the frenzy surrounding the early days of rock and roll, the musical follows teen idol Conrad Birdie as he prepares for military service with one final publicity stunt—a televised farewell kiss to one lucky fan. What follows is a whirlwind of romance, hilarious misunderstandings, larger-than-life characters, and classic musical theatre favorites including Put On a Happy Face, Kids, One Last Kiss, and A Lot of Livin' to Do.
Under the direction of Rising Stars Youth Theatre Company, this timeless musical comes to life with colorful 1950s costumes, exciting choreography, live theatrical storytelling, and an outstanding cast of local youth performers who have spent weeks preparing for the production.
