Looking for a vibrant, high-energy community activity next month?
From July 7th through July 11th, the Our Lady of the Lake Annual Church Carnival in Sparta, NJ will be returning for its biggest and most entertaining event yet! This beloved Sussex County/Northern NJ tradition brings together thousands of residents and offers incredible on-site live shot opportunities.
- More Rides Than Ever: We are debuting 15 major rides this year (our largest lineup ever), ranging from toddler-friendly attractions to high-thrill rides for teens, alongside 10 classic boardwalk-style game booths.
- A "Faith & Freedom" Semiquincentennial Celebration (Thursday, July 9): We are celebrating America's 250th Anniversary with a patriotic themed night featuring a live Uncle Sam handing out gifts to local children.
- Community with a Global Impact: Last year, the carnival raised nearly more charitable funds than ever, and we are aiming for even more traffic and proceeds this year. A massive chunk of this year's proceeds—anchored by our famous "White Elephant" giant yard sale—goes directly to support our sister parish in Haiti, combining local summer fun with a powerful global mission.
- Summer Carnival Classics: We will have live music (a live DJ throughout the week and a brand-new live band on Friday night), a delicious bake sale, and classic Jersey carnival food from the grill, including our famous local NJ pizza.
- Logistics: Free parking and easy access for news vans. Sparta is less than 40 miles from Central Park and under a 60-minute drive during non-commuting hours.
