3 Arrested For Luring Man To Union Park, Shooting At Him: Police

The 2 men and a woman, all of Newark, were charged in connection with the shooting at Rizzuto Park in Union.

UNION, NJ — Three locals from Newark were charged with luring a man to Rizzuto Park in Union and shooting at him on Sept. 30, Union County Police report.

Constance Jones, Rayshorn Fletcher-McKenith and Kayson Beatty, all 18 and from Newark, were charged in connection with the shooting which occurred at 11:15 p.m. on a Sunday, according to police.

Fletcher-McKenith and Jones reportedly waited for the male victim to arrive at the park. Once the victim arrived and parked in his car, Fletcher-McKenith approached him and fired numerous rounds, according to an investigation by Union County Police Detectives Dino Capra and Joseph Ferraioli.

The victim did not get hit by any of the shots fired and immediately fled the park, according to the report.

Jones was apprehended on Oct. 1 and was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

On Oct. 3rd, Fletcher-McKenith was apprehended without incident in Newark by members of the Union County Detective Bureau. Fletcher-McKenith was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and unlawful possession of a weapon.

On Oct. 6, Beatty turned himself in to members the Union County Police Department Detective Bureau in Westfield and was charged with attempted murder, tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of a handgun.

Fletcher-McKenith, Jones and Beatty were remanded in the Union County Jail in Elizabeth pending court procedures.
