• Springfield Kids Can Learn Magic Tricks At Summer Camp This Month (patch.com) — Families in Springfield can sign their kids up for a weeklong magic camp at the Chisholm Community Center, where children ages 7 to 12 learn tricks while building confidence and social skills. Two afternoon sessions run in late June and early July, forming a two-part course that ends with a student magic show for parents. Registration is required and space is limited.    

• Union's Revolutionary War History: The Caldwell Parsonage (tapinto.net) — Local historian Barbara La Mort recounts how Hannah Caldwell’s 1780 killing at the Caldwell Parsonage in present-day Union helped spur enlistment that contributed to the American victory at the nearby Battle of Springfield.
