Sometimes the only time you can make a real change and have some fashion fun, is when you break the rules. Since I was a little girl, I always remember hearing that one should never wear white after Labor Day and I had always kept that rule striclty, until now. There are many fashion rules being broken toda to add some spice for fashion lovers. One way many have done this for the last few years is mis-matching within an outfit, but of course you still use the same color schemes and the right proportion of prints to do it right, which can get a little tricky. The latest fahion rule to break is wearing white in winter, perfectly called "winter white" and it's much easier to incorporate into your Fall/Winter wardrobe. Winter white also seems to make a cold bleak day a little brighter.
The best way to pull off your winter white is very simple. Pick the shade of white that suits your skin tone, wether it's bright white, off-white or cream. If you're bold throw on head-to-toe white and accessorise with a splash of black or any other color for that matter. I particulary love the look of an all white pantsuit (or just white pant and shirt) with a black belt- the contrast is stunning. Otherwise, the best part about winter white is the ability, like when wearing black, to be able to pair it with almost anything. So go ahead and grab any color top or bottom and pair it with a beautiful and warm white. Chunky white sweaters work well with leggings, denim or even a maxi skirt and boots. If you're going to go with white bottoms in the winter, try to find a fine wale cord to winterize it.
If you're not quite feeling bold enough to outfit yourself or even part of yourself in white during the cold winter months, then try to incorporate white in your accessories. A matching set of white or cream knit gloves, hat and scarf can brighten up and bring your outfits and outerwear a whole new glow! Let yourself shine this winter and lighten your winter blues with shades of white and have fun breaking the "no white after Labor Day" rule!
