Temple Sha'arey Shalom of Springfield proudly presents its 29th annual "Sustaining Fund Event"--a special performance by the
New Jersey Cantors' Concert Ensemble. This very special event is being produced to honor two of its devoted staff members—Cantor Amy Daniels and Family Educator Mindy Schreff. The concert will take place on Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 4-6pm with a gala reception prior to the concert from 3-4pm.
In honor of these two dedicated and respected staff professionals, the Temple joyfully presents a performance by The New Jersey Cantors' Concert Ensemble, the world's very first choir of both men and women cantors. The Ensemble features more than 20 cantors from Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist synagogues in northern and central New Jersey.

The Temple's own Cantor and Director of Education, Amy Daniels, herself a member of the ensemble, is being recognized for receiving an honorary Doctorate from the School of Sacred Music at Hebrew Union College, in addition to celebrating her 25th anniversary as a Cantor. Cantor Daniels was awarded her honorary degree on April 29 in New York City, surrounded by family, friends and colleagues.
Family Educator Mindy Schreff is being celebrated for being the 2009 UJC/MetroWest winner of the Adele and Gene Hoffman Award from the Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life. Mindy was honored last November at the 10th annual Grinspoon-Steinhardt Awards for Excellence in Jewish Education in Washington, DC. The Awards are designed to recognize, honor, and support outstanding classroom Jewish educators on the local level in communities across North America in conjunction with their central agencies for Jewish education or federations.
