Springfield Residents Can Now Request Overnight Parking Permission Online

The Springfield Police Department's new portal allows nightly exemption requests for driveway construction, guests and other situations.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ - Springfield residents who need permission to park on a public street overnight can now submit requests through an online portal, the Springfield Police Department announced.

Township ordinance prohibits parking on public streets between 2 and 6 a.m. The online system allows residents to request a one-night exemption on a case-by-case basis for situations such as driveway construction, a newly paved driveway, a disabled vehicle or a guest with no room in the driveway.

Requests must be submitted by 2 a.m. and will be reviewed by a police supervisor, who will approve or deny each request via email.

Permission will not be granted if there is sufficient room in the driveway, and vehicles remain subject to a summons even if a prior request has been approved. Overnight parking will not be permitted when snow or freezing precipitation is present or forecast.

To access the form, click here. Requests are valid for single nights only; a new submission is required each night.
