The library will present a 30 minute preview of Emma, Jane Austen's enduring classic, which premieres on Masterpiece Classic on PBS on Jan. 24 at 9pm. The PBS TV program admires Jane Austen's insightful descriptions that bring to life the ordinary, everyday details of life in the early 1800s and portrayal of her characters such as Emma Woodhouse, a young, rich, beautiful and hopelessly self-deluded woman.
