The Oddities of Baseball Scoring

On Wednesday, April 27th at 7:00 P.M., John Nolan, the Official Scorer for the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League of Baseball, will be at the Springfield Free Public Library to share his knowledge with us.

There are 23 ways for a man to get to first base including a walk, hit by a pitch, catcher interference, fair ball hits runner, sacrifice fly dropped, a single hit, and more.  Hear the history of baseball scoring and ask the question, “How would I score it?”  The evening is a fun way to refocus on America’s beloved pastime and the start of the 2011 baseball season.  John Nolan will share his knowledge of baseball scoring and encourage audience participation.  Wear your favorite team hat and shirt.
