Mayor Keffer Releases New Hurricane Irene Update
JCP&L helicopters will be overhead; boiling water alert is still in effect.

Union County Office of Emergency Management reports that Springfield along with Cranford and Rahway sustained the most damage due to flooding of the Rahway River.
While the state of emergency has been lifted, all travelers are again cautioned to watch for flooded streets and fallen tree branches. JCP&L will be conducting aerial surveillance of its infrastructure today.You will see a low flying helicopter with black and orange stripes and tail number N50AP.

The boil water alert continues for customers of New Jersey American Water Company. In addition, some residents are experiencing low or no water pressure. Even if the water pressure is restored, customers must boil water and conserve water use until further notice. Hugh A. Keffer,
