New Program Offers Veteran and Their Families Help With Housing and Supportive Services

Program funded by US Department of Veteran Affairs grant.

Community Hope is New Jersey’s largest charity serving homeless veterans and at-risk veteran families. The new Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program for veteran families was funded by a US Department of Veteran Affairs grant and the program has recently expanded to serve veterans from Union County. The grant attempts to keep veteran families from losing their homes and to rapidly re-house homeless veterans and their families.  Grant services include temporary financial assistance and case management services, ranging from assistance in finding jobs and child care to linking the veteran to healthcare services.

Community Hope is currently providing these services to veterans and veteran families in Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties.

Since 2004, Community Hope has helped more than 600 veterans break the cycle of homelessness and despair.
