Parents To Attend Springfield BOE Meeting Tonight Over Bullying
The meeting will be at Jonathan Dayton High School at 8 p.m. Monday. Parents packed the last meeting over bullying and looping concerns.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — Springfield parents are once again planning to rally and address the Board of Education at its meeting Monday night over concerns of bullying and looping in the district.
The meeting will be held at Jonathan Dayton High School Instructional Media Center, first floor at 8 p.m.
Parents previously packed the BOE meeting on Nov. 6 to share disturbing accounts of bullying incidents they say have gone unaddressed by the school district.

Since that meeting multiple parents have come forward publicly to share their own bullying accounts in the district. One family even said they had to move away from the township to stop the bullying. Another family claimed bullying was caught on a school camera with no repercussions.

"Frustrated" parents have also joined together to start a movement called "Limit Looping" as a result of their own negative experiences with looping in the district.
Looping is a practice where a student repeats the next grade level with the same class and teacher as the year prior. The group feels looping can have benefits, but, at the same time, can hinder a child academically and also can cause hurtful consequences in cases of bullying.
