Recycling Works Like Magic!

Saint James the Apostle School Hosts Earth Day Magic Show.

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than with a magic show centered around recycling! Thanks to the Home & School Association of Saint James the Apostle School, students in all grades were entertained and astounded by the “Recycling Works Like Magic!” show, produced and performed by Tom Yurasits. Tom delighted the students with magic tricks and illusions that demonstrated the reasons we recycle and the good it can do for our community and our world. He provided visual examples through the use of magic on how and what we can do to help the recycling process. There was a great deal of enthusiasm and audience participation by students in all grades.

The younger students were surprised to see ordinary ping pong balls change color right in front of their eyes. (Pictured from left to right: Isabella Valente, Sarah Janvier, Tom Yurasits, and Christopher Geitner)

Eighth grader Carl Sanciangco did his best to follow the magician’s lead in performing magic but was not able to pull of the tricks with the same flair and finesse. (Pictured from left to right: Carl Sanciangco and Tom Yurasits)
