Saint James the Apostle Students Tour Springfield Police Department.

Class gets an up close look at police headquarters and how the Department serves Springfield and surrounding communities.

The 5th grade students at Saint James the Apostle School recently enjoyed a tour of the Springfield Police Department compliments of their D.A.R.E. Officer, Ryan Westover. The class was able to walk through the department and see the dispatch room, booking room, courtroom and holding cells. They were able to meet a sergeant and some of the detectives. One of the detectives demonstrated how a fingerprint can be lifted off an object and paper. The class enjoyed walking to and from the Police Department and appreciated the police escort Officer Ryan provided. It was a great opportunity to learn more about what the men and women in blue do for Springfield and surrounding communities!
