Springfield Employee Recognition: Terri Stapleton of the Tax Collector’s Office

Stapleton retires from office where she has worked since 1987.

Six Springfield Employees were recognized for their service to the Township at a morning “Mugging event” last week.

Township Administrator Anthony Cancro gave six employees—including three retirees—with superlative service records mugs in recognition of their on-the-job achievements. The municipal employees recognized included library employees, police officers and maintenance workers.

Before presenting the mugs, provided by Investor’s Savings Bank, Cancro spotlighted how each employee earned the recognition, and thanked them each for “going the extra mile.”

Patch will highlight each employee recognized in the Mugging Event.

Terri Stapleton of the Tax Collector’s Office
Hired as a tax clerk in 1987, Stapleton was appointed Deputy Tax Collector in 1998. She became a certified tax collector in 1990, and has re-certified every two years since. In her spare time she enjoys garage sales, Irish Festivals and Irish dancing. In presenting her the award, Cancro acknowledged a personal debt to Stapleton; Cancro said he often leaves his keys in his office, and relies on Stapleton for help.

“Every time I leave my office and have to get back in I look over to Terri and she clicks me in,” Cancro said.
