Springfield Man Arrested For DWI In Summit
A man also reported being hit in the head with possibly a bat and robbed in Summit, according to the police blotter.

SUMMIT, NJ — Two Springfield men were arrested in Summit recently; one for DWI and another for contempt of court.
On Sept. 28, David C. Judge, 56, of Springfield was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and obstructing the administration of the law. Judge was released with a pending court date.
On Oct. 2, Francis J. Aquilino, 28, of Springfield was arrested on a contempt of court warrant. Aquilino was transported to Union County Jail and turned over to their custody.

On Aug. 24: David W. Powers, 18, of Berkeley Heights was arrested and charged with simple assault. Powers was released with a pending court date.

On Sept. 27: An armed robbery was reported by a man outside a Morris Avenue establishment. The victim reported that on Sept. 24 between 10 and 11:30 p.m., two black or Hispanic males approached him. The victim was struck in the head with a blunt object, possibly a baseball bat and knocked to the ground. The two suspects forcefully removed approximately $500 in cash from the victim. The victim was unable to provide a more accurate description of the two suspects.
On Sept. 28: Karriema S. Hines, 24, of Linden was arrested on two contempt of court warrants out of Rahway and Elizabeth. Hines posted bail and was released with pending court dates from both police departments.
On Sept. 28 at 5:09 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a Summit Avenue business. The victim reported a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, medium build, blond hair, wearing a red jacket and red pants, entered the business and removed a bottle of Old Forester Whiskey from a shelf and concealed it on his person. Upon confrontation by the business owner, the suspect denied the act, continued to wander around the store and then exited. The value of the bottle of liquor was approximately $21.95.
On Sept. 29: Joris K. Koranteng, 27, of Maplewood was arrested and charged with shoplifting. Subsequent to Koranteng’s arrest, it was also discovered he had several contempt of court warrants out of Secaucus, Seaside Heights and Hoboken. Koranteng was transported to Summit Police Headquarters and processed for the shoplifting charge. Secaucus Police responded to Summit Police Headquarters where custody was turned over to them.
On Sept. 29 at 2:11 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a wallet from a Morris Avenue employee. The victim reported that the wallet contained miscellaneous debit and credit cards, a driver’s license and approximately $50 in cash. The wallet, described as a brown Louis Vuitton, was valued at approximately $900.
On Sept. 30: Johannes A. Zarzycki, 61, of Summit was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Chester Township. Zarzycki was released with a pending court date.
On Oct. 1: Evan C. White, 26, of Princeton, was arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Newark. White was released with a new court date.
On Oct. 2: Armando B. Romero-Mejia, 52, of Newark was arrested on two contempt of court warrants from Newark and East Rutherford. Romero-Mejia was released with pending court dates from both police departments.
On Oct. 3 at 5:45 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft of a snow blower from a Woodland Avenue residence between 8 and 9 a.m. The victim reported the snow blower had been placed at the edge of the driveway to be retrieved for service. Upon returning home to discover the snow blower gone, the victim contacted the service company to verify they had retrieved it. The company had not yet been out. The snow blower was described as a red Sears Craftsman 5.5hp, 25” Dual Stage Snow Thrower, valued at approximately $400.
