Springfield Native Rachel Millman Brings Her Music To The World

The Dayton grad performs benefit in February.

Springfield resident Rachel Millman is no stranger to the stage. She graced Jonathan Dayton High School with her magnificent voice and acting skills. Now she's taking her talent to new heights as she ventures into the entertainment industry after graduating from Penn State University.

Her debut EP, "If I Believe," was released earlier this year. Available on iTunes and other online retailers, the five songs showcase Millman's vocal range and ability to carry a tune.

Millman's debut five song EP  "If I Believe" was released in Nov. 2008 and went live on iTunes on September of this year. In this short time, Millman has performed at Arlene's Grocery, the Duplex in NYC, Kids at Heart and elsewhere throughout NJ and NY. She's scheduled to perform February 10 at Montefiore Children's Hospital in the Bronx as part of the well respected non profit music initiative Musicians on Call.

Most recently, Millman and her team headed to Boston to shoot a music video for her debut single Throwin' Rocks at The Moon. Although the song was already recorded, an acoustic version was arranged in conjunction with Brandeis University's acapella group VoiceMale. The track is already up and getting hits on Millman's website, and the video is scheduled to premiere on YouTube January 11, 2010!  It's a lot for a young professional to deal with, but it's exactly what Rachel has been waiting for.

"I'm looking forward to 2010 being a very successful year," Millman said. "I'm so excited for my 'Throwin' Rocks' video to come out and looking forward to my music continuing to get airplay and attention!"

We hope so too! Her sound is crisp and fun, mixed with passion and rock. She's a fresh face and sound for 2010 and we're wishing her the best of luck (and hoping for an autograph too!)
