Springfield’s Aftermath

What a difference eight hours makes

Time heals many wounds and in the case of the monumental deluge from Hurricane Irene, nince hours saw a dramatic drop in the water level in many of Springfield’s flooded areas.

However, there were a number of places where the water level has been painfully slow in receding, leaving the hardest hit homeowners standing by helplessly while flood waters denied them access to their properties.

Several sections of town were covered by downed trees, branches / leafy debris and mud covered streets.
