Cops: Union County Man Steals $1.77 Worth Of Tastykakes, Lands In Pennsylvania Jail

A 43-year-old Hillside man landed himself in a Pennsylvania jail after he pried open the window of a store and stole three Tastykakes.

A 43-year-old Hillside man landed himself in a Pennsylvania jail after he pried open the window of a Bethlehem grocery store and stole three Tastykakes worth $1.77.

Police said John J. Straile was standing in front of the store when they arrived to answer a burglary in progress call around 7 a.m. on Sunday, according to nj.com.

Surveillance cameras showed Straile inside the shop after he forced his way through a small window using a screwdriver and stole the treats from a display case.

He was charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, receiving stolen property, theft and possession of an instrument of crime and sent to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail, according to Lehigh Valley Live.
