$3,000 Bike Stolen In Summit: Police

SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Police are looking for the person responsible for stealing a bike valued at $3,000 on July 16.

According to authorities, the Summit Police took a report for a theft of a bicycle from a New England Avenue storage room. Barbara Leparulo reported that taken from the unlocked storage room was a Trek Madone 4.5 women’s bicycle.

"The thief left their black junkie bicycle and helmet in my storage unit and stole my bicycle. Obviously they couldn’t ride two bikes. The thief also stole my helmet and two pairs of gloves," Leparulo told Patch. "The storage unit was unlocked but the building is locked and only tenants have a key to the building"

Total value of the stolen bicycle and accessories at the time of the report was approximately $3,000.
