700 Pounds Of Food Collected In Summit

Summit, NJ - A total of 700 pounds of food was collected through the Summit CommUNITY Cares Food Drive, Summit police report.

The amount collected was double from last year's food drive.

This was the 2nd annual food and household goods collection hosted by Summit PBA Local #55 and members of the Summit Police Department.

Food was collected between May 23 and will conclude on Monday June 13.

"Thanks to your generosity, this year's drive allowed us give even more assistance to both Family Promise and the Junior League of Summit," Summit Police stated. "The food donated will help families in need throughout Union County."
