9 Business, Home and Car Burglaries Reported In Summit

A Summit man was also charged with possession of drugs, according to the blotter.

SUMMIT, NJ — A total of nine thefts/burglaries were reported in Summit to local businesses, homes and cars, according to police.

Summit Police blotter:

On Nov. 15 at 9:05 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a business. The incident occurred between Nov.4 at 3 p.m. and Nov. 9 at 8:30 a.m. at a business on Beauvoir Avenue. The victim reported that two HP Chromebooks were taken; valued at approximately $500 each.

On Nov. 17: Sandra M. Cruz-Huertas, 33, of Bound Brook was arrested and charged with theft by deception. Cruz-Huertas was released with a pending court date.

On Nov. 17 at 12:06 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a business. The incident occurred between 10:51 a.m. and 11:19 a.m.. Two females entered a business establishment on River Road where they removed several items of clothing. Taken were five shirts with a combined value of approximately $400.

On Nov. 18 at 6:33 p.m.: A report was taken for a burglary to a residence. The incident occurred in an apartment on Summit Avenue. The incident occurred between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the same date. The only items that appeared to have been taken from the apartment were $1,000 to $3,000 in cash.

On Nov. 25: Parker Wills, 18, of Summit was arrested and charged with possession of CDS. Wills was released with a pending court date.

On Nov. 25 at 10:20 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a business on Beauvoir Avenue. The theft occurred on Nov. 23 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Taken from an employee’s purse was approximately $200 cash.

On Nov. 25 at 10:30 a.m.: A fraud report was taken from a resident of Euclid Avenue. The incident occurred on Nov. 21 at approximately 8:30 a.m. The victim received a phone call from an individual who falsely identified himself as the victim’s grandson. The victim was advised that bail needed to be posted on this individual’s behalf after he was arrested. The victim complied with the request by purchasing multiple gift cards totaling $6,000.

On Nov. 28 at 9:17 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft from a residence on Woodland Avenue. Taken between 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 and 11 a.m. on Nov. 18 was a delivery package that contained a handmade, wool diaper cover. The approximate value of the item was $39.

On Nov. 28 at 7:25 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft from unsecured motor vehicles that were parked in a driveway of a Summit Avenue residence. Taken from the unsecured vehicles were a navy blue Southern Tide winter jacket, a black Nantucket shell jacket, a blue Patagonia backpack and a Google Chrome laptop. Total value of the items removed was approximately $600.

On Nov. 30 at 9:20 a.m.: A report was taken for a burglary to a business on Maple Street. The burglary occurred at 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 29. Taken from the business was approximately $30 in cash, an iPad and a Cambridge Wireless Bluetooth Speaker.

On Nov. 30 at 9:45 a.m.: A report was taken for a theft from an unsecured motor vehicle that was parked in the driveway of a Colonial Road residence. Taken from the vehicle was a Dell laptop and a computer bag that it was housed in. Total value of the laptop was approximately $500.

On Nov. 30 at 12:27 p.m.: A report was taken for a theft from an unsecured motor vehicle that was parked in the driveway to a Morris Avenue residence. The victim reports that a removable Kenwood car stereo-face and remote were taken from the vehicle. Total value for the items was believed to be approximately $150.
