The Brayton community came out in force to celebrate its favorite annual fundraiser on November 12– Bingo Night! There was a sold-out, standing-room only crowd filling the gym, library and cafeteria and everyone had hope that they might be the big winners.
The night has several different elements: pizza and a bake sale (manned by fifth grade students who are working to raise money for their year-end celebrations), 6 games of Bingo (where winners get gift certificates to spend in downtown Summit), and the famous Bingo Basket Raffle. A single dollar can win you almost anything: NY Ranger tickets, a NJ Nets jersey, a foosball table, a brand new Wii gaming system, Indian cooking lessons, a limited edition American Girl doll, 3 iPods, 3 coach bags and more! All together, there were 35 baskets.
SEASON OF GIVING CONTINUES
On November 30, The Bar Method will be donating 10 percent of sales to the Lung Cancer Alliance. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Client and teacher-in-training, Kathy O'Brien, has been taking Bar Method for almost 3 years and recently completed the vigorous teacher training program. However, shortly after, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. This 38-year-old mother of three has never smoked.
