The board will also consider new staff stipends, overnight trips, and travel spending, while reinstating a bylaw tied to how quickly policies like the cell phone ban can be approved.

Coming off a 1-1 start with both promise and growing pains, the young squad leans on senior leaders like quarterback Matt McKeever as they aim to extend their recent winning streak against Carteret.
   

3. Ballistic Vest for K9 Bryan (crimewatch.net) — Summit's police K9 Bryan now has a new ballistic vest, donated by Spikes K9 Fund to better protect him on duty. After receiving the gear, his handler organized a T‑shirt fundraiser featuring the Summit K9 logo, raising $2,000 to help buy a similar life‑saving vest for another department's dog.
   

4. Meryl Streep (ign.com) — Did you know Oscar-winning actor Meryl Streep was born right here in Summit? This brief biography traces her path from local roots to acclaimed performances in films like The Deer Hunter, Kramer vs. Kramer, and Sophie's Choice, highlighting her many Academy Award and Golden Globe honors.
