With details still limited, residents should expect delays in that area and watch for updates as authorities release more information about the incident.
2. New Leadership Introduced As Summit BOE Reorganizes (patch.com) — Summit residents will see new leadership on the Board of Education as Eileen Kelly steps in as president following the annual reorganization meeting. Two new members, Kimberly Gianis and appointee Jenny Hoff, were also sworn in, signaling a fresh leadership cycle focused on students and the year ahead for Summit schools.
3. NJ Transit Station Step Reparis Delayed In Summit (patch.com) — Summit commuters will be waiting until after July 4 for demolition and installation of long-delayed replacement stairs at the Summit train station, with completion hoped for by late summer. Council leaders counter that engineers, first responders, and multiple committees vetted the proposal over months and say downtown businesses need the added foot traffic. The dispute now centers on whether viable alternative outdoor dining options have actually been presented.
