Dr. Hemant Kairam, president of Summit Pediatric Associates
P.A., has been selected by the Overlook Hospital Medical Center Advisory Board
to receive the 2012 Clinical Excellence Award for Pediatrics. The prestigious
honor is presented to outstanding physicians who exemplify clinical excellence,
good citizenship, and collaboration at Overlook Hospital. In each of these
catagories he demonstrates his dedication to the pursuit of excellence in the
care of each of his patients, the education of each medical student and the
collaboration with the Atlantic Health System health care providers that work
together to provide the best pediatric care possible for our community.

Dr Kairam completed his Pediatric residency at Atlantic
Health System, now named the Goryeb Children’s Hospital. He joined Summit
Pediatric Associates PA in2000. Kairam is an active member of the Overlook
Medical Center medical staff serving on many committees including: the Patient
Safety and Quality, Pediatric Care Review and he is a member of the Pediatric
Advisory Committee. In 2007 he was named Vice-Chair of Pediatrics at Overlook
Hospital. In addition to his clinical responsibilities he is an active
participant in medical education. He has been lecturing and precepting medical
students, Pediatric and Family Practice
Students for many years. He currently
serves as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine. He
has received numerous awards for his teaching skills and one special award that
defines the character of his doctor patient relationship. “The Benjamin Johnson
MD Award” (awarded to the Resident who showed the Most Humanistic approach to
Pediatric Care).
At the global
community health level he has led three medical relief teams of volunteers into
rural Haiti, a country devastated by an earthquake in January 2010. He
continues to work with “Hands Up for Haiti” and “Haiti Village Health” humanitarian
organizations that provide essential medical services to the Hatitian
population and training for members of the Haitian medical community.
Dr Kairam’s practice, Summit Pediatrics, located at Overlook
Medical Center has been providing care to the community for over 30 years. All
the Pediatricians are Board Certified in Pediatrics and are active members of
the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Department of Pediatrics at The
Goryeb Children’s Hospital of Overlook Hospital And Morristown Memorial
Hospitals. The staff at Summit Pediatrics is dedicated to providing the best
personalized pediatric care for their patients from cradle to college in a
family friendly setting.
