Basking Ridge Local Opens Smoothie King In Summit

SUMMIT, NJ — It all started when Basking Ridge local Heidi Law got clear braces. She needed to find something outside of coffee to drink that wouldn’t stain her teeth, so she started going to Smoothie King in Warren.

“I was going there so much and talking with the owner that I started realizing I knew them better than my friends,” Law said.

Law, who at the time was working in corporate America for the past 17 years, was looking to do more to help the community. She started researching Smoothie King and liked what the company represented.

“This opened the door to give back to the community and live a healthier lifestyle,” Law said. “I liked being able to help others eat healthier not only for breakfast, but lunch, snack and dinner.”

So Law took the plunge to open her first business. Law’s franchise Smoothie King will open at 462 Springfield Ave. in Summit on June 22.

“It’s a really exciting time,” Law said. “I am most excited about a lot of the kids that will be working at my store, for a lot of them this will be their first job. I feel privileged to be the person to have them work with me on their first job and provide a fun, great experience.”
