Bathroom Catches Fire In Summit

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit Fire Department responded to a Druid Hill home that caught fire late Wednesday afternoon.

At 4:04 p.m., Summit firefighters determined that the second floor bathroom of the home was on fire. The visible fire was extinguished by 4:15 p.m., and declared under control at approximately 4:30 p.m., according to Summit officials.

No injuries to residents or firefighters were reported.

The Summit Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Summit Police Department, Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad and Millburn Fire Department. Apparatus from Union Fire Department and Springfield Fire Department provided coverage at fire headquarters.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Summit Fire Department Investigation Unit.
