Bike Thief Confronted In Summit: Police
The persistent thief abandoned their first target and left with a second, police said.
SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Police are looking for the person responsible for stealing a bike from Union Place on Aug. 22.
According to authorities, a witness reported seeing a man attempting to remove an unsecured bicycle from Union Place. When confronted, the would be-thief took off towards Beechwood Road where witness stated the subject then removed a second unsecured bicycle and rode off on it towards Summit Avenue, police said.
The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 55-60 years old with gray hair wearing a Mets t-shirt and light-colored jeans, police said.
