Car Burglary, Theft Of Groceries, Attempted Home Burglary In Summit

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit Police released its activity blotter for Dec. 16 to Dec. 29:
Dec. 20: At 2:47 p.m., a report was taken for a burglary into a motor vehicle parked at a
Washington Avenue residence. The victim stated sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown actor entered their 2015 Honda Accord and rummaged through the center console. The vehicle was unlocked and had no signs of forced entry. At the time of the report nothing was noted as taken.
On Dec. 21: At 8:53 p.m., a report was taken for a theft that occurred at Park Avenue residence. The
victim stated a delivery of groceries they ordered from Instacart was stolen from their front door. The theft occurred between 6:48 p.m. and 7:08 p.m. The groceries amounted to $58 in total.

On Dec. 21: At 9:24 p.m., a report was taken for an attempted burglary to a Greenfield Avenue
residence. The victim stated when they returned home at 9 p.m. on Dec. 21, they observed
damage to the exterior porch door indicative of forced entry. The incident occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. The interior of the residence did not appear to have been accessed. At the time of the report nothing was noted as taken.
On Dec. 27: At 3:08 p.m., a report was taken for a theft that occurred at a Glenside Avenue
residence. The victim stated they placed their bike in the laundry room unsecured on Dec. 23, and when they returned the following day, the bike was no longer there. Taken was a white Lectric eBike, valued at $1,500.
