Car Crashes Into Summit Store

Breaking: One of the vehicles involved was carrying an infant who was taken to the hospital, a bystander told Patch.

SUMMIT, NJ — A three-car accident that caused a car to crash into a Summit storefront happened Friday.

The accident occurred on Maple Street where a car crashed into the Summit Thai Cuisine and damaged Robot Revolution in the same building, according to a bystander who was walking on the sidewalk when it occurred. She wished to remain anonymous.

One vehicle was traveling down Maple Street when a woman in a parked car on the same street opened her driver's side door. The traveling vehicle swerved to avoid hitting the door and ended up still hitting the door and sideswipping another vehicle traveling in the lane going in the opposite direction, the witness said.
