Central Jersey Volleyball Academy Offers Camps, Academies and Free Clinics

CJVA Offers Summer Programs for Boys and Girls

Central Jersey Volleyball Academy (CJVA), a non-profit community organization promoting youth volleyball development is offering an array of summer programs for boys and girls, including free clinics for boys prior to fall tryouts.

Volleyball is one of the most popular girls high school sports, but during the 2015 – 2016 season, there were only 55,417 boys playing volleyball in high school versus 436,309 girls. To encourage more boys to learn the sport, Central Jersey Volleyball Academy (CJVA) is holding free clinics for boys entering grades 5 through 12. The free training, which is being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. from August 29 through September 7, 2017, gives boys the opportunity to learn new skills and prepare for tryouts. The free clinics will be held at RAC Sports, 97 River Road in Flemington. Boys tryouts are scheduled for September 10 & 11.

Other summer offerings at CJVA for boys and girls include basic and advanced skills camps and academies, a power league, open gym, private and small group lessons. CJVA’s youth development programs focus on all aspects of the game with an emphasis on fundamentals. Skills are reinforced through repetition and skill-building drills and scrimmages. Key skill sets include serving, passing, setting, and hitting and blocking. Players also learn concepts and strategies of the game.
