Chill Out And Recover At Summit’s Revivify
Springfield Sports Trainer uses Cryotherapy to rejuvenate skin health, reduce pain and improve athletic performance and recovery.
SUMMIT, NJ — Using the power of cold through Cryotherapy, Revivify in Summit offers locals a way to rejuvenate skin health, reduce pain and improve athletic performance and recovery.
Revivify recently opened at 316 Springfield Avenue in Summit in January by a group of locals including Springfield exercise physiologist, nutritionist and sports trainer Paul DeCicco with Kim Bredahl and Mike Gillio.
DeCicco owns Evolution Fitness & Sports Training in Springfield and felt Revivify was the perfect compliment to his health and wellness business.

“On our end, this is an answer for people’s ailments,” DeCicco told Patch. “For athletes, recovery is just as important as training. This way we can provide therapy and help with recovering. It is also a great addition and powerful tool to relieve any pain from chronic or autoimmune diseases.”
Cyrotherapy is also an alternative option to medications taken to relieve inflammation or pain - stimulating the body to heal, regenerate – reducing inflammation and subsequent pain.

Essentially Cyrotherapy works similar to applying ice to an injury. Instead locals step into a chamber to focus on their whole body or can opt to only focus on a localized area using cold temperatures at around -100 degrees fahrenheit to -260 degrees. This causes blood vessels to constrict, reducing blood flow and alleviating pain, swelling and inflammation.
The benefits of Revivify’ s cryotherapy services include (but are not limited to):
- Aesthetics – Burn up to 500 to 800 calories per session, increase metabolism and skin collagen production, reduce rate of collagen breakdown to help maintain skin elasticity and tightness and improvement of skin conditions
- Recovery from Injury – reduce inflammation to improve joint function, decrease muscle spasticity, improve range of motion, reduce swelling, pain sensitivity and feelings of pain associated with injuries as well as recovery time after surgery or medical procedures and more.
- Disease and conditions – minimize symptoms of degenerative diseases of the peripheral joints and spine and reduce symptoms of autoimmune conditions including Rheumatoid arthritis, Psoriatic arthritis, Arthritis, Multiple sclerosis, Dermatitis, symptoms of inflammatory disorders and reduce chronic fatigue and pain (i.e. fibromyalgia)
- Sports performance, recovery from exercise and health & wellness benefits – reduce delayed onset muscle soreness and the length of time needed for muscle repair between training sessions/ competitions, reduce feelings of pain and perceived effort during intense training or competition, when performed before training, improve overall feeling of well-being for up to 3 to 4 hours after any treatment and much more
“It’s all about getting the word out there,” DeCicco said. “When I explain it, it sounds intimidating, but once they understand how it works, they become much more comfortable.”
To ease locals in, DeCicco is offering an introductory special for $40 and to do the whole body with Cryotherapy or a localized area or a cryotherapy facial. He is also offering 25 percent off all packages.
Along with the cold, DeCicco also offers therapy through heat with an infrared sauna that helps detox the toxins from the food you eat and metals in the body.
