College Rejection - Don't Look Back!

At this time when some seniors are beginning to get some rejection notices from colleges and universities, I would like to share a few thoughts from my wise colleague, Sarah McGinty in Boston, Massachusetts, noted author of many fine books on writing the college essay.  Remember that even after the rejection letter comes, you are still the wonderful and special student that you were when you made your application and do not let this decision define who you are going forward.  There were many talented applicants who were rejected by this institution and a better "fit" awaits you.  Secondly, this school has already moved on and is no longer thinking about you, so it is time for you to move on and stop thinking about them. Focus on the other schools that you have also applied to.  One of them will be an even better place for you to spend the next four years, and launch the next stage of your life!  Cheer up, "the best is yet to come!"
Enjoy your holidays!

with a merry smile,
