The Junior League of Summit (JLS), the Summit Area Public Foundation (SAPF), and the Central Presbyterian Church Community Alliance Team held a successful community leadership mixer for nonprofit organizations and the public Wednesday March 19th at the Central Presbyterian Church auditorium.
At least 80 people attended the event, representing a wide variety of nonprofit organizations. People had the opportunity to publicly introduce their organizations' missions and goals to better inform others about their roles within the community. And there was also time to socialize in a less formal manner.
"It was enlightening to hear specifics about so many of the non-profit organizations in Summit," commented Melanie Wilson, President of Speak Up Summit. "There are so many groups looking to improve the quality of life for our students, our seniors and even our animals! Many of these organization face similar challenges, specifically fundraising and volunteer participation. Kudos to the Community Alliance Team, the JLS and SAPF for creating a forum for our leaders to share their best practices, challenges and visions for improvement. We can all learn a lot from each other."
