The Connection Dance Team Brings Home the Gold

The Connection Dance Team had great success this competition season. The talented group of girls danced their hearts out at Beyond The Stars, Dancers Inc., and Starpower.

The Glitter, Bronze, and Sparkle Teams competed at the beginner level at 2 of the 3 competitions. Highlights include Glitter’s 5th place overall for “Loud”, Sparkle’s 7th place overall for “Conga”, several 1st place in category, and High Golds and 4¾ Stars all around!

The Silver, Gold, Acro, and Elite Teams competed at the intermediate level at all 3 competitions. Highlights include 10th, two 9th, two 8th, 5th, and 4th place overall, in addition to the Elite Team’s “Little Me” ranking 1st place overall! All 6 dances received Golds, High Golds, and 4¾ Stars in addition to several 1st place in category.

The 6 duet/trios competed at the intermediate level at all 3 competitions. Highlights include a Platinum score and 5 Stars, 4th place overall and 1st place overall for “Tears In Heaven”, a Platinum score, 3rd place overall twice, and 2nd place overall for “Sassy”, 2nd place overall for “The Party’s Just Begun”, 4th place overall for “American Girl”, 5th place overall for “Here I Come”, and 7th place overall for “Monster”.

In addition, the team received several special judges awards including - Terrific Teamwork for Silver Team’s “Time Of My Life”, Captivating Connection for Gold Team’s “Skyscraper”, Pretty Pictures for “Skyscraper”, Smiles For Miles for Silver Team’s “Unwritten”, and Dazzling Divas for “The Party’s Just Begun” duet.

Coach Jessica Fascenelli Weisenbach received a Choreography Award for "Skyscraper" and the Entertainment Award for “Time Of My Life”. "Skyscraper" also received a Golden Ticket to the World Dance Championships!

Auditions for The Connection Dance Team’s 2017-2018 season will begin June 16th. Auditions for ages 5-8 will be held Friday, June 16th at 3:45pm and auditions for ages 9+ will be held Saturday, June 17th at 11:00am. Auditions for the Acro Team (ages 8+ only) will be held on Saturday, June 17th at 3:00pm. Call backs will be held on Monday, June 19th and Tuesday June 20th at 3:45pm.

The Connection Dance Team’s mission is to build well-rounded dancers and encourages team building in a safe, fun and competitive environment. Dancers are selected by audition in mid June each year. The 2016-2017 team is made up of five levels of dancers ages 5 and up. All dancers will have opportunities to perform at competitions, community events, special events at The Connection and more!

The team begins practice in the fall and performs and competes during the late winter and spring months. Members have the opportunity to compete in Solos, Duets, and Trios, and to be a part of the Elite Team. The team looks forward to another fun and successful season!
