Continuo Arts Foundation to Honor John W.(Jack) Cooper

Jack Cooper to be honored at Continuo Arts Foundation Gala Nov. 1st at Canoe Brook Country Club

The Continuo Arts Foundation will honor John W. (Jack) Cooper, President Emeritus of the Summit Area Public Foundation (SAPF) at its annual gala to be held at Canoe Brook Country Club on November 1st. Mr. Cooper, who retired last year after 28 years as President of SAPF, was the driving force behind the growth and development of the foundation during his tenure. Since 2010, SAPF has made grants to The Continuo Arts Foundation to launch, sustain and support its program for Senior Citizens. The Seniors Sing! program is offered free of charge to Senior Citizens as a result of the generous support from the Summit Area Public Foundation and other local foundations.

From his wise and broad perspective of the community, Mr. Cooper has promoted appreciation for and substantial support to organizations giving essential services to the older population in Summit and surrounding areas. Over the years, hundreds of Seniors have participated in the weekly Seniors Sing! ensemble promoting their physical and mental health, engaging in monthly social activities and forming new friendships in a supportive and creative environment. They have performed in countless community outreach performances in hospitals, senior housing facilities and charity groups in addition to two major concert productions each season. Seniors Sing! members hail from three counties and many towns including Summit, Milburn, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Westfield, Cranford, Springfield, Union, Florham Park, Short Hills, Madison, Chatham and more.

The public is invited to join Continuo Arts in honoring Mr. Cooper on November 1st at the Canoe Brook Country Club and may call 908-264-5324 for ticket information or book online at www.bit.ly/CAFGALA2019 . The evening will include a Cocktail hour with performances by the Youth Choirs of New Jersey followed by dinner and dancing with the live swing band Reeds, Rhythm and All That Brass. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in both Live and Silent Auctions to benefit the Continuo Arts Scholarship fund.
