Crumbling Wall At Summit Train Station Under Construction

SUMMIT, NJ — A crumbling rock wall at the Summit train station will continue to be repaired over the next two weeks by NJ Transit.
Emergency repairs began on the wall as it started crumbling last week causing the Gladstone Branch rail service along Morris & Essex Lines to be suspended Wednesday night and Thursday.
The wall still needs more work done, which will continue through this week and next, NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith told Patch.

“We don’t anticipate any impacts to trains during this time,” Smith said.
Work will most likely be done in between trains and during non-peak hours. Work will also be done at the top of the wall causing several parking spots on Railroad Avenue, close to Maple Street, to be blocked off during the repairs.
